We are looking for an experienced Freelance Ladieswear Designer to join a busy team, specialising in mature ladieswear. The ideal candidate will have strong all-round womenswear design experience and be confident designing across a wide range of product categories, including:

  • Tops & blouses
  • Dresses
  • Knitswear
  • Trousers & bottoms
  • Jackets & outerwear
  • Co-ordinated pieces and other ladieswear

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing commercial, stylish and wearable collections for the mature ladieswear market
  • Creating new styles and developing existing designs
  • CAD design and preparation for sampling, including accurate size specifications
  • Creating and developing prints, patterns and colourways
  • Working closely with the sampling and production process to ensure designs are clearly communicated
  • Keeping up to date with current fashion trends while understanding the needs of the mature customer
  • Working independently and managing deadlines across multiple projects

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience as a Ladieswear Designer
  • Strong knowledge of the mature ladieswear market
  • Excellent all-round product knowledge
  • Strong CAD skills and experience preparing designs for sampling
  • Experience creating original prints and artwork
  • A good understanding of garment construction, fit and sizing
  • A commercial eye and ability to design with the customer and market in mind
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a small, busy team

Working Pattern: freelance – 2 days per week in the office, with the possibility of 3 days depending on workload.
