The Company

Excellent opportunity for a commercially minded and creative Designer to join an established Textiles Manufacturing company responsible for developing and delivering inspiring textile collections for their contract interiors market. Working across hospitality, leisure, healthcare, marine and wider specification sectors, the Designer will play a vital role in the creation of commercially successful woven and printed collections from initial concept through to launch. The role combines creative trend‑led design with strong technical knowledge, supplier collaboration and commercial awareness. Working with the Contract Design Manager and wider commercial teams, the Designer will play a key role in driving new product development, supporting customer projects, managing bespoke developments and helping grow the company’s success. The Role

  • Design and collection development: Design and develop commercial textile collections for the Contract market from concept through to sampling, production and launch. Research trends, colours, materials and market direction to identify new commercial opportunities within hospitality and contract interiors. Create trend boards, colour palettes and collection concepts aligned to market requirements and customer needs. Develop new woven and printed qualities in collaboration with mills and suppliers. Commission, create and develop artwork as required for new collections. Support product launches through photography styling, presentation preparation, card layouts and collection handovers. Present new product developments to senior stakeholders including the Design Manager, Commercial Director and CEO.
  • Market and customer engagement: Attend key industry exhibitions, trade shows and design events including Heimtextil, HIX, Clerkenwell Design Week, London Design Week, Focus and Deco Off. Produce trend reports and market feedback following supplier visits and exhibitions. Support customer‑facing presentations and bespoke product development projects where required. UK and International travel to supplier exhibitions.
  • Specials and bespoke development: Manage bespoke and special product developments through the Studio+ design process from initial brief through to sampling and production. Coordinate with mills and suppliers to progress special developments efficiently and accurately. Complete and manage New Product Information forms in collaboration with Purchasing and Sales teams.

Skills & Experience

  • 1-3 years’ experience within the textiles or interiors industry, ideally with exposure to contract, hospitality or specification markets.
  • Strong understanding of woven and printed textile product development.
  • Understanding of commercial textiles, including high‑performance materials and test certification standards, would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Proficient in AVA and Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
  • Strong awareness of colour, trend and material direction within interiors and contract design.
  • Proactive, collaborative and detail‑oriented approach.
  • Genuine passion for interior textiles, hospitality and commercial design.
