We are looking for an experienced Senior Girlswear Jersey Shape Designer to join our creative team. This role plays a vital part in shaping trend-led, age-appropriate, and commercially successful girlswear collections. You’ll work across multiple age ranges, translating seasonal concepts into cohesive, brand-aligned designs through close collaboration with our in‑house graphics and print teams. You will partner with a well‑established client portfolio, primarily including Primark and Supermarkets with opportunities to expand into additional high‑street and e‑commerce brands.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop girlswear jersey collections across various ages and customer profiles.
- Research seasonal trends, fabrics, colours, and silhouettes suited to different market levels.
- Create detailed CADs, mood boards, and technical packs for sampling and production.
- Collaborate with internal graphics and print teams to deliver cohesive and creative collections.
- Work directly with clients, buyers, and account managers to refine and evolve design concepts.
- Incorporate traditional design methods alongside emerging digital and AI tools.
- Source and select fabrics, trims, and finishes that reflect each brand’s individual handwriting.
- Maintain a strong understanding of fit, proportion, and safety standards specific to girlswear.
- Balance creativity with commercial viability, ensuring designs meet quality and cost parameters.
- Travel internationally for research trips, trade shows, and factory visits when required.
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Fashion Design, or equivalent professional experience.
