The Company
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Footwear Designer to join an established and highly successful supplier to leading high street retailers and supermarkets.
The company has an excellent reputation within the industry and is looking for a creative and commercially minded designer, ideally with experience in licensed and/or character footwear, to join its growing design team.
The Role
As a Footwear Designer, you will play a key role in developing innovative, commercial footwear ranges for major high street retailers and supermarkets.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Designing footwear collections across seasonal ranges, ensuring designs are both on-trend and commercially relevant.
- Supporting the development of new and existing product ranges in line with customer requirements.
- Interpreting customer briefs and creating technical packs, trend boards and design presentations.
- Producing high-quality CAD designs and artwork.
- Working closely with the wider design team to develop cohesive and commercially successful ranges.
- Attending design and customer meetings where required.
- Managing products through the development and sampling process.
- Liaising with overseas factories to ensure designs are developed accurately and to the required standard.
- Monitoring product development against agreed critical paths and deadlines.
- Keeping up to date with footwear, fashion and consumer trends to ensure collections remain fresh and relevant.
About You
We are looking for a passionate and creative Footwear Designer who is confident working within a fast-paced commercial environment.
You will ideally have:
- 1–2 years’ minimum experience in a similar footwear design position.
- Experience within licensed and/or character design would be highly advantageous.
- A fashion-related degree is essential.
- Strong knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, with the ability to create and present professional design concepts.
- A strong understanding of current fashion and footwear trends.
- A creative approach combined with a strong commercial eye.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Excellent organisational skills and a proactive, self-motivated approach.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a busy design team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for footwear, fashion and the wider industry.
- A hardworking, enthusiastic and positive attitude.
