Job description
Do you want to be part of a dynamic & fast growing business? We are seeking a motivated and creative Design Assistant to support the design team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent fashion or textile graduate – looking to gain hands-on experience in the headwear and accessories industry working with well known brands.
The successful applicant will need to be enthusiastic, organised and be able to work at a fast pace. You must be able to work well in a team but also have good initiative to work alone, be able to manage tasks effectively, have good attention to detail.
Responsibilities/tasks
- Assist in the development of seasonal collections across men’s and women’s headwear and soft accessories.
- Support the design team with mood boards, range building and product development.
- Organise and maintain fabric, trim, and sample libraries
- Help prepare for client meetings, presentations, and showroom dressing & organisation.
- Provide admin support to the design & product development teams, such as the photographing and logging of samples, chasing factories by e-mail etc.
Requirements
- A degree or diploma in Fashion/Textiles or related field
- A keen interest in accessories and headwear
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- CAD skills (Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop) are a plus, but not essential
- Positive, proactive and eager to learn
