The Role:
- Designing multi product wovens.
- Working on high street accounts.
- Collaborating with the Design team to ensure that trend and colour information is produced for the strategy, providing choice for customers.
- Actioning comments made from customer meetings for the final fit/styling amendments.
- Ensuring all designs are interpreted correctly prior to production.
- Liaising with Indian factories.
- Monitoring and evaluating sources of inspiration in the industry and wider markets, leading to product opportunities and ensuring they are incorporated into the ranges.
- Regularly reviewing competitors.
- Working closely with Buying and Merchandising to build the range and understand customer requirements.
- Ensuring that department trend and colour information is produced, communicated, and distributed internally to other functions.
Skill Requirements:
- Ladies wovens background is essential.
- Minimum of 4 years working with fast fashion.
- Working knowledge of high street accounts.
- Strong commercial awareness and up to date with current trends, key shapes, colours, etc.
- Understanding of and experience working with Indian factories.
- Creative, young, trend-setting styling fashion background (i.e. Miss Selfridges) is needed.
- Production of design specifications suitable for factories to understand.
- Knowledge of the manufacturing process and raw materials to develop samples and ranges effectively and to cost.
- Ability to fully understand customer requirements.
- Proven ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Fully computer literate with strong handwriting capabilities.
