We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Shima Programmer to join our knitwear production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming Shima Seiki flat knitting machines to produce high-quality knitwear that meets design, quality, and production requirements. The role requires close collaboration with design, product development, and production teams to ensure efficient manufacturing and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, modify, and optimise knitting programs for Shima Seiki flat knitting machines.
  • Interpret technical specifications, garment sketches, and construction requirements.
  • Develop programs for sampling, prototyping, and bulk production.
  • Troubleshoot programming and machine issues to minimise downtime.
  • Optimise knitting programs for efficiency, yarn consumption, and production speed.
  • Work closely with designers and product developers to ensure garments meet aesthetic and technical requirements.
  • Support sample development and implement design revisions as required.
  • Conduct testing and quality checks on knitted samples before production.
  • Maintain accurate programming documentation and version control.
  • Collaborate with machine operators and production teams during production runs.
  • Assist in implementing process improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality standards and health and safety procedures.

Essential Skills and Experience
