The Role:

  • Designing multi product wovens.
  • Working on high street accounts.
  • Collaborating with the Design team to ensure that trend and colour information is produced for the strategy, providing choice for customers.
  • Actioning comments made from customer meetings for the final fit/styling amendments.
  • Ensuring all designs are interpreted correctly prior to production.
  • Liaising with Indian factories.
  • Monitoring and evaluating sources of inspiration in the industry and wider markets leading to product opportunities, ensuring they are incorporated into the ranges.
  • Regularly reviewing competitors.
  • Working closely with Buying and Merchandising to build the range and understand customer requirements.
  • Ensuring that department trend and colour information is produced, communicated, and distributed internally to other functions.

Skill Requirements:

  • Ladies wovens background is essential.
  • Minimum of 4 years working with fast fashion.
  • Working knowledge of high street accounts.
  • Strong commercial awareness and up to date with current trends, key shapes, colours, etc.
  • Understanding of and experience working with Indian factories.
  • Creative, young, trend-setting styling fashion background (i.e. Miss Selfridges) is needed.
  • Production of design specifications suitable for factories to understand.
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing process and raw materials to develop samples and ranges effectively and to cost.
  • Ability to fully understand customer requirements.
  • Proven ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Fully computer literate with strong handwriting capabilities.
