We’re looking for a highly creative and detail-driven Design Manager to join a growing design team in Manchester. This role is ideal for someone with a strong sense of style, a refined aesthetic, and a passion for creating elevated, timeless products.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop collections from concept to completion, ensuring a consistent and elevated brand aesthetic.
- Focus on fabrication, construction, and refined detailing to deliver premium, timeless silhouettes and co-ords.
- Produce accurate technical drawings and specifications for production.
- Manage fabric and trim sourcing, building strong supplier relationships.
- Oversee the organisation and upkeep of the fabric and trim library.
- Collaborate closely with Production and Product Development on supplier allocation, costing challenges, and quality standards.
- Attend weekly fit sessions, contributing to design refinements and supporting CAD updates following fit comments.
- Prepare monthly CAD boards for collection releases.
- Compile design packs and materials for sign-off meetings.
- Conduct competitor analysis, including regular comp shops and trend reporting.
- Carry out ongoing research to inform seasonal direction and product development.
Skills Required:
- Degree qualified in Fashion Design or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a ladieswear design role.
- Background working with premium or high-end brands is essential.
- Strong aesthetic judgement with a clear understanding of modern ladieswear trends and positioning.
- Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Well organised, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible and adaptable, with a proactive approach to evolving brand needs.
