We are seeking an experienced Account Manager to develop and manage key retail and wholesale accounts for our knitwear collections in France. The role is responsible for driving sales growth, ensuring outstanding service to customers, and coordinating internally to deliver on product, price and timing.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage and grow a portfolio of French retail and wholesale accounts, acting as the primary point of contact for all commercial and product matters.
- Develop a deep understanding of each customer’s brand, target consumer and seasonal needs to propose relevant knitwear ranges and build long‑term partnerships.
- Work closely with design, product development and production teams to brief seasonal ranges, coordinate sampling, and ensure collections meet customer requirements on style, quality, price and lead time.
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations, range reviews and costings, negotiating prices, margins and terms in line with the company’s commercial targets.
- Monitor sell‑through, market trends and competitor activity in the French market, feeding insights back into range planning and pricing strategies.
- Oversee the critical path from order placement to delivery, working with merchandising, logistics and factories to ensure on‑time, in‑full shipment and quick resolution of any issues.
- Identify and open new accounts in France that fit the customer profile, building a healthy pipeline of new business opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of meetings, forecasts, orders and performance, and prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for management.
Candidate profile:
- Proven experience as an Account Manager or similar commercial role within fashion, ideally with knitwear, jersey or similar product categories.
- Strong track record of managing retail/wholesale accounts and achieving sales and margin targets.
- Solid understanding of the fashion calendar, product development lifecycle and production/critical path in a supplier or brand environment.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation and relationship‑building skills, with a strong customer‑service mindset.
- Highly organised, numerate and confident with sales reporting and basic analysis (e.g. Excel or similar tools).
- Fluent French and strong English required; additional European languages are an advantage.
- Willingness to travel within France (and occasionally to the UK or other locations) for customer meetings, trade shows and range reviews.

- Location: France (home‑based or hybrid, with regular travel to key customers and occasional visits to offices/factories as required).
