The Company
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Swedish-speaking Merchandiser to join an established and successful supplier of apparel to leading high street retailers and major store groups.
The company works across international markets, collaborating with retailers, brands, suppliers and licensors across the UK, EU and Far East.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Apparel Merchandiser who is fluent in Swedish and confident working across product development, critical paths and customer accounts.
You will play a key role in managing the product development process from initial concept through to delivery, while building strong relationships with international retailers, suppliers and internal teams.
Key responsibilities will include
- Managing all aspects of product development, including costings, sampling, artwork and approvals.
- Creating and managing range plans tailored to individual retailers and brands.
- Maintaining and updating critical paths to ensure key deadlines are achieved.
- Liaising with licensors and managing the approval process where required.
- Working closely with the Senior Management Team, providing administrative and operational support.
- Raising and managing purchase orders and label orders, including care labels, brand labels and price labelling.
- Coordinating lab dips, print strike-offs, bulk fabric submissions and sample approvals.
- Liaising with shipping and logistics teams to ensure goods arrive, are processed and delivered on time.
- Maintaining and updating customer records and product information.
- Building strong working relationships with Swedish-speaking customers, UK and EU retailers, and Far East suppliers.
- Communicating with major high street retailers and store groups.
- Supporting the wider merchandising and product development team with day-to-day administration.
- Handling general administrative duties, including answering incoming calls, data entry and maintaining accurate records.
Skills & Experience Required
- Fluent Swedish speaker, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A minimum of 3 years' proven experience in a similar Merchandising or Product Development role.
- Previous experience working within apparel/fashion is essential.
- Experience working with international retailers or customers is highly desirable.
- A background in licensing would be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of garment costings and product development processes.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple products and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate critical paths and product records.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Fully computer literate, with good knowledge of Microsoft Office and relevant merchandising systems.
- A proactive, commercially minded approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a busy team.
- The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be an experienced apparel professional who is fluent in Swedish, highly organised and comfortable working with international customers and suppliers.
You will be confident managing multiple stages of the product lifecycle, from costing and sampling through to approvals and final delivery, while maintaining excellent communication with retailers, suppliers, licensors and internal stakeholders.
