A great opportunity for a Part Time Designer to join a small, friendly and successful team supplying Leisure Apparel. The role will be very varied and involve designing and producing CAD work for a range of products, liaising with factories and merchandising the full range.
The Role:
- Designing and developing fashion items in line with the client's brand identity and target market.
- Working closely with suppliers to ensure designs are produced accurately and meet quality standards.
- Keeping up to date with emerging fashion trends as well as general trends relating to fabrics, colours, and shapes.
- Prepare CADS, tech packs, and presentations for new collections.
- Attending Fit Sessions and providing fit comments to Suppliers.
- Assisting in the selection of suitable fabrics and trims.
- Product Design and Research – researching current trends, liaising with buyers for feedback and gaining an understanding of the customer requirement.
- Merchandising – managing critical path.
- Keeping in constant contact with customer buyers, relaying messages to the appropriate factory members, whilst learning how to deal with enquiries.
- Factory Production Management – ensuring production is on schedule.
- Ad hoc duties are also an essential job role as you are providing full administrative support.
- Maintenance of samples – chasing and booking in.
- Accurately and efficiently creating purchase orders.
- Oversee the fitting and sealing of samples (create size specs, fit garments in line with Critical path, check and approve pre-production/production samples).
- Sample Management (including labelling, logging, organising, preparing sample for buyers’ meetings).
Skills Required:
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Can do attitude and be keen to get stuck in, you will be part of a small stable team that works well together.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Working knowledge of critical paths.
- Knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator.
