The Company: We are seeking a highly skilled Import Merchandiser with proven experience in managing global supply chains, supplier relationships, and multi-million-pound retail accounts. The Role:
- Costing styles - Ensure margin is met and dates are achievable.
- Ensure appropriate factory is selected.
- Ensure lead times are workable.
- Ensure item cards/Purchase orders are set up and raised on Navision correctly.
- Ensure a back-to-back sales order is loaded where applicable.
- Agree critical path with supplier and monitor dates throughout production cycle to ensure on time shipment.
- Where delays are unavoidable ensure this is communicated to the customer/sales to get agreed and system updated.
- Work with QA and design team to ensure CP is met and to push comments out within the agreed time frame.
- Prioritising workloads for these departments.
- Work closely with our offices and factory base to develop good working relationship by email, phone and VC.
- Checking factory inspection report to a commercial standard.
- Checking barcodes and box end labels before goods are produced.
- Ensure factories are clear on customer requirements, packing, labelling, sampling etc.
- Liaison with external forwarders and shipping agents to secure handovers and agree vessel info.
- Log vessel info into Navision in ‘merch comments’.
- Highlight under/over shipments to sales team/customers.
- Attend weekly CP meeting to discuss issues and highlight production issues.
- Attend weekly workload meeting to discuss order raising status.
- Arrange samples for customers where needed – i.e. SMS samples and photos samples.
- Book DHL/DPD for parcel collection and process the necessary docs.
Skills Required:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in merchandising, product sourcing, or supply chain management within retail, fashion.
- Strong knowledge of import/export documentation and compliance.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Commercial mindset with strong analytical and strategic planning abilities.
