We’re looking for a highly creative and detail-driven Design Manager to join a growing design team in Manchester. This role is ideal for someone with a strong sense of style, a refined aesthetic, and a passion for creating elevated, timeless products. Working closely with the CEO, you’ll play a key role in bringing original concepts to life, from initial research and design through to final product.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop collections from concept to completion, ensuring a consistent and elevated brand aesthetic.
  • Focus on fabrication, construction, and refined detailing to deliver premium, timeless silhouettes and coords.
  • Produce accurate technical drawings and specifications for production.
  • Manage fabric and trim sourcing, building strong supplier relationships.
  • Oversee the organisation and upkeep of the fabric and trim library.
  • Collaborate closely with Production and Product Development on supplier allocation, costing challenges, and quality standards.
  • Attend weekly fit sessions, contributing to design refinements and supporting CAD updates following fit comments.
  • Prepare monthly CAD boards for collection releases.
  • Compile design packs and materials for sign-off meetings.
  • Conduct competitor analysis, including regular comp shops and trend reporting.
  • Carry out ongoing research to inform seasonal direction and product development.

Skills Required:

  • Degree qualified in Fashion Design or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a ladieswear design role.
  • Background working with premium or high-end brands is essential.
  • Strong aesthetic judgement with a clear understanding of modern ladieswear trends and positioning.
  • Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Well organised, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a proactive approach to evolving brand needs.
  • Confident presenting ideas and work to senior stakeholders.
