Our client a successful Online Fashion brand are looking for a passionate and driven Buyer to join their growing team.
An organised, proactive, team player, with a love for fashion and keen eye for the latest trends.
Proven record of sales growth and ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Must have attended overseas trips and be experienced in managing others.
Take full ownership and responsibility of categories from development through to sign off and daily trading.
Consistently makes well informed decisions for category and company to drive sales.
The Role
Order Chasing
Manages BAA in the order chasing process - ensuring lateness is minimal and action is taking where necessary.
Fits
Independently fits for category.
Creation of block libraries.
Weekly investigation of high returns.
Ensuring styles are fit in a timely manner and priority order.
Developments
20-30 developments per week - in line with options per month.
Strong awareness of lead times and when new styles need to be briefed out.
Clear concise developments sent with specs where necessary.
Manages BAA in chasing developments and highlighting urgent styles.
Trade
Strong knowledge of how the business / departments are trading.
Awareness of all KPI’s and takes actions to ensure these are met.
Leads bestseller reports.
Attends Trade meetings in absence of buying manager.
Sign off
Signs off daily with Buying Manager.
Manages pre sign offs with AB / JB.
Able to confidently negotiate prices with suppliers.
Responsible for sign off for relevant campaigns.
Trips
Attends short and long haul buying trips with buying manager or independently when required.
Skills Required
- Leadership skills - manages BAA / AB effectively and sets out clear objectives.
- Previous experience in a buying or merchandising role, preferably within the fashion or retail industry.
- Long lead experience (denim, knit coats).
- Short lead experience working with UK suppliers.
- Strong understanding of the fashion industry and market trends
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Keen eye for trends.
- Self-motivated and proactive.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Team player with a collaborative approach.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure.
