The Company: An exciting position for a Knitwear Production Manager to work with a dedicated team ensuring knitwear are reliably sourced and delivered to customers. Reporting to the Directors you will be a highly motivated team player with a positive, can do attitude.
The Role:
- Creating and maintaining order from yarn suppliers to production factories.
- Entering supplier invoice information onto spreadsheets ready for payment.
- Ensuring spreadsheet balance at the end of the order and approving invoices for payment.
- Production costings for orders.
- Working closely with various team members and at various levels including from Sales to Design, Accounts and Managing Directors.
- Liaising with factories and establishing working relationships with key contacts.
- Working towards accurate costings for sales team/customers.
- Visiting overseas factories to build up an understanding of factory processes and volume production.
- Working with factories, transport company and merchandising to plan import truck schedule and FOB deliveries.
- If and when needed helping out in the warehouse - preparing orders for dispatch.
- Following design process from concept to sample.
- Opening and closing of the factory.
- Overseeing testing procedures/requirements for each customer.
- Supervising the merchandising side of the business to gain a basic understanding of making bookings to customer DC’s, liaising with customers on any delivery issues.
- Chasing yarn suppliers for compliance documents.
- Keeping up to date with external factors eg exchange rate fluctuations, etc.
Skills Required:
- A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role is essential.
- Previous experience working with Knitwear.
- Understanding of the design process from concept to sample.
- Fully Excel literate.
- Business acumen, drive and enthusiasm.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Understanding of factory issues so problems can be anticipated.
- Flexibility towards work as on occasion - open and close the factory and be a key holder if the alarm goes off.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
