Overview
The Role:
- Carry out trend and competitor research, creating mood boards and regular shopping reports.
- Working independently and with designers
- Creating detailed tech packs to send to factories, regular contact with factory partners to ensure clear understanding and smooth production
- Working on a range of licensed character Ladies/ Men\’s Nightwear
- Prioritise work and meet deadlines.
- Identify trend in fabrics, colours, print and shapes, developing into new collections, covering a wide range of licensed product.
- See concept designs through to production, working closely with buyers and factories to ensure the brief is met.
- Work closely with technologists and merchandisers, to ensure products fit and find solutions to any problems in production.
- Attending customer meetings
- Design to customer briefs and amend as buyers\’ requests.
- Creating exclusive designs, with awareness of cost and factory restrictions.
- Thorough understanding of the current market and research of retailers.
- Managing day to day workload to ensure deadlines are met for samples and designs.
- Develop new products with the factories from research, requesting new fabrics, embellishments and techniques.
- Reasonable travel, regular comparative shopping in the UK and overseas.
- Working on our biggest retail accounts, being able to take on a high level of responsibility
- Working closely with licensed style guides, creating strong bespoke AOP\’s
Skills Required
- Experience in Licensed Apparel
- BA in fashion design or similar, industry experience
- Strong adobe illustrator & photoshop skills
- Strong presentation, communication and organisation skills
- Ability to work well individually and successfully as part of a team.
- Confident and passionate about design
- Creative and on trend adaptable Handwriting ability
- Experience in factory and customer facing roles.
- Strong fabric and print knowledge
- Ability to adapt Handwriting to meet different customer requirements.
