Reporting to the Senior Production Manager and Producers, you are responsible for assisting the producers at The Gate Films from pre-production, production, and post-production. You will ensure the logistics of the shoot are organised. You won’t be afraid to get stuck in and get your hands dirty to ensure high standards of service are met.
Key Objectives:
- To assist the Producer in the preparation of production at all stages.
- Report on progress to the Production Managers and Producers.
- Deal with any day-to-day problems that arise and find solutions.
- To assist the producer in the following elements, this list is not exhaustive:
- Ensuring crew are booked within budget and an eye on change management.
- To book kit and facilities within budget and ensure it matches with the creative and budget.
- To send out call sheets, risk assessments, schedules, and other support documentation and liaising with HODs on each stage of this process to ensure its accuracy.
- To check additional details required for the smooth running of the shoots such as food allergies for catering.
- To help create documents to assist in the creative choices of the production such as casting documents, PPM documents, mood boards, etc.
- To book travel and accommodation for cast and crew.
- To attend castings, voice-over sessions, and edits on behalf of the Producer.
- To assist the producer in all aspects of post-production from delivering commercials via Clearcast, Adstream, voice-over sessions, music licensing grades, etc.
Key Objectives to progress to Junior Producer for 2021 and 2022:
- Learn how to break down a treatment or script into a production route.
- Learn to manage the expectations of clients and agency from the advice of your HODs.
- Learn how to budget a job from a script breakdown and treatment.
- Learn APA guidelines and apply them to production scenarios.
- Learn who everyone is on set and what they do.
- Learn to deal with problems before they arise.
- Learn how to turn a no into a yes - finding solutions.
- Learn the process of commercial production from start to finish.
- Learn to control and monitor spending on a larger scale.
- Report on progress to the Producers and Senior PM.
Experience:
- 2 years experience in production as a co-ordinator or PA.
- Experience of both working as a team and of working independently.
Training:
You will receive on-the-job training and guidance from the producer you are working with in order to progress to this level. From time to time you may be required to attend a formal training course to be discussed on an individual case-by-case basis.
