Role Overview
We are seeking an Account Director to lead and grow key international client relationships within our agency. This role ideally requires knowledge of the media ecosystem and its integration with content production. Support in orchestrating the set up will be required. The candidate will need to have a strong growth mindset as part of the job will involve growing scope of work and possibly participating in tenders when relevant. The candidate will act as a trusted business partner for clients, operating autonomously (yet reporting to one Group Account Director on all accounts listed above). He or she will be engaging with multiple stakeholders across client organisations. The role combines client leadership, strategic thinking, commercial growth and internal orchestration. Ability to travel at times (especially at initial phase) is important.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Leadership & Relationship Management
- Serve as a senior, day-to-day lead for a portfolio of international accounts.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with client stakeholders at multiple organisational levels (procurement, digital, brand operations, business leads, etc.) and in Region.
- Act as a strategic advisor, ensuring the agency’s output aligns with clients’ business objectives and operational realities.
- Maintain a high level of client satisfaction while proactively identifying risks and opportunities.
- Strategy & Media Ecosystem Integration
- Develop and oversee integrated strategies combining media, content production and activation.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the media landscape (digital, social, paid, owned, platforms) and how it connects to content creation and distribution.
- Translate client business challenges into actionable, integrated solutions in collaboration with internal media, strategy and production teams.
- Ensure consistency, relevance and performance across all touchpoints.
- Growth & Commercial Development
- Drive organic growth across existing accounts through upsell and cross-sell initiatives.
- Identify and develop new revenue opportunities aligned with client needs and agency capabilities.
- Contribute to proposals, scopes of work and commercial negotiations.
- Monitor financial performance of accounts (revenue, margin, forecasts).
- Internal Leadership & Delivery
- Lead cross-functional teams (production, creative, media, strategy) to deliver high-quality work on time and on budget.
- Provide clear direction, prioritisation and decision-making across complex projects.
- Mentor and support more junior account team members, setting high standards of excellence.
- Act as a role model for collaboration, accountability and client-centric thinking.
- Report to Group Account Director overseeing all operations.
Required Experience & Skills
Essential
- 6+ years’ experience in an account leadership role within a communication, media or content production agency.
- Strong understanding and insight into content production processes, outputs and best practices, including how this integrates with the media ecosystem.
- Proven experience managing large, complex international clients.
- Demonstrated ability to drive account growth and deliver commercially successful outcomes.
- Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent English (written and spoken). Other language welcome, more specifically French but not mandatory at all.
- High level of autonomy, sound judgement and strategic thinking.
Desirable
- Experience working across multiple markets and cultures.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort working with performance data.
- Experience coaching and developing junior team members as well as coordination across functions.
- Familiarity with modern content production models and workflows.
