The Account Director will have a passion for creative production, customer service and a hunger for developing and delivering profitable business. They will be responsible for the operational delivery, quality of service and strength of relationship on a Tag account that has a fully end-to-end production focus. This role requires someone who has a good understanding of Tag’s proposition, can build strong relationships with clients and creative agencies, and work collaboratively with colleagues across the business. A sound understanding of creative agency processes is necessary to build processes that work with these partners.
The Account Director will need to have a firm grasp of the services provided across their client’s brand across Creative Production and technology, or both dependent on the scope. They will need to have a project management background, be financially numerate, a laser focus on exceeding client expectations, and motivated to develop strategic, long-term solutions for their clients’ brands. The Account Director may also work on global campaigns and as such be responsible for delivery and client satisfaction across regions and showing an understanding/appreciation across the different market requirements.
- Client
- Proactively and regularly keeps in touch with key day-to-day clients.
- Build relationships with comms & marketing managers, in-house creative & content teams; to win new work, receive campaigns, and help ensure all work is awarded to TAG where suitable.
- Develop a deep understanding of a client's business and the wider Public Sector.
- Establish high level of trust and credibility with clients.
- Seek to gain visibility of campaigns and media plans 6+ months in advance of delivery.
- Look to build relevant relationships with relevant client creative agencies so that our work is more joined up and efficient.
- Manage client expectations, and propose solutions to challenging situations.
- Use insight and knowledge to develop additional services Tag can offer.
- Work with Business Director to grow the revenue and gross profit of the account.
- Ensure accurate forecasting and billing for all services.
- Be responsible for the ongoing WIP/Billing and GRN position, following up with the relevant central teams where jobs are past material dates on a weekly basis.
- Work with clients to understand any budgets they have for certain periods or large projects.
- Guide team to ensure end-to-end financial control of projects is in place and adhered to constantly, including pre-bills.
- Ensure Monthly Management Information packs reviewing the service delivered to our client(s) are accurate and submitted on time.
- Take ownership of any strategic briefs, ensuring the client’s needs are delivered against objectives.
- Where necessary receive any new campaigns briefed from client, ensuring relevant internal shared service teams are made aware and correct briefing process is followed.
- Support clients to understand Tag’s wider production services and capability, and build processes that are agile and fulfil clients’ requirements in a cost-effective manner for Tag.
- Manage individual and team performance within your client services team.
- Work collaboratively with the central Creative Production teams involved in the production of work delivered to the client, engaging well and supporting these teams where necessary.
- Conduct feedback and appraisals for any direct reports throughout the year.
- Drive self-development and take part in all relevant training.
- Work closely with the Business Director to design the team structure and setting of roles and responsibilities for any future projects being designed for the client.
- Ensure training of the team is up to date and opportunities identified to further develop team.
- Display strong leadership skills – ability to lead by example – acting as a role model to account management team.
- Step in as senior liaison to help troubleshoot internal and client issues.
- Experienced account director with exceptional client management skills.
- Will have 5+ years experience within Creative Production and Agency environment.
- Self-motivated with high personal drive.
- Effective under pressure and able to deliver consistently.
- Articulate and a good listener.
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
