Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours per week

About the Role

Reporting to the Deputy Director of Security and Resilience, you will be responsible for managing and supporting across the full range of business activities. Duties will include project management, research, opportunity identification, technical solution development and proposal writing, recruitment and management of technical experts and partners, and technical report writing / reviewing. You will have coverage across the Transnational Threats: Pursue portfolio which covers a number of thematic areas including but not limited to Counter Terrorism, Counter violent extremism, Rule of law and Organised crime. You will be committed to delivering value that exceeds the expectation of our clients on international development projects / programmes that span short-term interventions to large scale capacity building projects in fragile and conflict affected states.

You are a strong manager and relationship builder. You are self-motivated, ambitious, and results-focused, with a strong understanding of the international aid and development sector. You are the kind of person who demands the highest quality and can successfully support simultaneous demands from varying stakeholders. You are an excellent communicator with pragmatic and proven problem-solving skills, able to devise and implement strategies to benefit the company and our clients.

You will have significant experience of programme management within an international development context, with experience in supporting and supervising large programmes and a demonstrable track record of delivering successful projects and winning (directly or indirectly) new ones. You have sound judgement and a keen eye for detail, and a passion for individual and organisational improvement. You are people focused and relish the opportunity to be a highly engaged member of a rapidly growing and high performing team. You are confident and competent in an operational context, with strong commercial acumen and client focus, with a desire to expand your networks, knowledge, and influence.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key accountabilities:

  • Lead and/or support on opportunity identification, capture, pursuits and proposal development
  • Lead and/or support competitive tenders including the design of technical approaches and methodologies
  • Lead the development of commercial offers and project budgets
  • Develop and execute plans for complex programmes and projects, identifying issues or potential risks, including project performance, financial and legal.
  • Provide day-to-day operational oversight of programme delivery, ensuring contract compliance and financial management, acting as main point of contact with Clients
  • Grow your projects / client accounts to achieve financial targets
  • Lead technical delivery of programmes through the delivery of activities and client reporting
  • Deliver sustainable performance through project management, pipeline management, development of services, market presence, people retention and development
