Summary of Position The Nominated Person for Safety/Security (NP Safety/Security) is responsible for the development, administration and maintenance of an effective Safety Management System (SMS) within TAG Aviation’s AOC and CAMO operations. As the focal point for safety matters, the NP Safety/Security ensures that safety principles are embedded in daily operations and that compliance with all applicable regulatory and company-specific safety requirements is maintained. The effectiveness and success of the SMS depend on strong management principles, communication skills, analytical thinking, trustworthiness, and a comprehensive understanding of the commercial aviation industry and its regulatory framework. The NP Safety/Security plays a critical role in fostering a Just Safety Culture and ensuring a proactive approach to risk management and continuous safety improvement. Additionally, the NP Safety/Security is responsible for overseeing and managing the Deputy NP Safety, ensuring they are adequately trained, supported, and aligned with the organisation’s safety objectives. The Nominated Person Safety/Security is responsible for the development and management of the Security programme to ensure compliance with all national and international regulations. The Nominated Person Safety/Security oversees all aspects of the operation in terms of security and where required risk assesses operations to ensure the security of aircraft and crew. Our Company Values allow us to achieve this Mission: S afety P assion I ntegrity R espect I nnovation T eam Spirit Key Responsibilities/ Duties and Accountabilities Develop, implement and maintain an effective Safety Management System (SMS) in compliance with EASA, ICAO, UK CAA, TM-CAD, IOMAR, and other regulatory authorities. Ensure all TAG Aviation personnel understand and adhere to the TAG Aviation Safety Policy. Foster a Just Safety Culture to encourage open reporting and proactive safety behaviours across the organisation. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety initiatives, ensuring continuous improvement. Oversee hazard identification and risk assessment programmes, ensuring risks are effectively managed. Initiate, facilitate, and oversee risk assessments and safety cases for operations, procedures, and emerging risks. Implement and monitor risk mitigation measures, ensuring they are effective and updated as needed. Conduct trend analysis on safety data to identify patterns, emerging risks, and areas for improvement. Manage internal occurrence and accident investigations, ensuring thorough analysis and reporting. Ensure proper follow-up and closure of safety investigation findings, with corrective and preventive actions in place. Oversee the Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) Programme, analysing trends and identifying safety concerns. Promote and effective and confidential safety reporting system, encouraging staff to report hazards. Represent TAG Aviation during internal and external audits, ensuring effective management of non-compliances. Act as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities (UK CAA, TM-CAD, IOMAR etc.), addressing safety compliance matters. Ensure the organisations adheres to all aviation safety regulations and company-specific safety requirements. Develop, maintain, and deliver Safety Management Training that meets regulatory and company standards. Conduct safety awareness campaigns to reinforce proactive risk management and continuous safety improvement. Facilitate the establishment, monitoring, and reporting of Safety Performance Indicators (SPIs) Provide regular safety performance reports and recommendations to senior management. Develop, manage and ensure the Emergency Response Plan (ERP) is effective, current, and regularly tested. Ensure all personnel understand their emergency response roles and responsibilities and are adequately trained. Organise and lead safety-related meetings, working closely with departmental heads to achieve safety objectives. Supervise and support the Deputy NP Safety, ensuring their effective contribution to the SMS. Delegate responsibilities as appropriate while maintaining oversight and accountability. Assist with the management and development of internal Aviation Security Programmes. Ensure Aviation Security regulatory requirements are monitored and implemented. Review and recommend improvements to the security procedures and training programme. Collate and promulgate security information taken from various external sources. Compile security-related risk assessments. Attend DfT Air Carriers meetings when required. Point of Contact for any security-related occurrence reports. Facilitate periodic security audits and ensure effective management of non-compliances.
