About the Role
This role is responsible for delivering Mechanical and Electrical maintenance across the facility, ensuring equipment reliability and supporting ongoing facility upgrades aligned with business priorities.
You will supervise and coordinate subcontractors carrying out maintenance, calibration and upgrade activities, ensuring all work is delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
You will also play a key part in maintaining strong HSE compliance, driving 5S standards, and ensuring operational requirements are clearly communicated, understood and consistently applied across the site.
- Support projects and Test Facility demands, meet timings and to specifications.
- Develop test facility capability in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain test facility operating standards to meet legislative and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure the facilities workshops operate in a safe and compliant manner, ensuring all activities have appropriate equipment, and instruction of facility function.
- Maintain good housekeeping 5S methodology across site operations.
- Support Preventive Planned Maintenance requirements.
- Support and maintain subcontracts for test and specialist equipment.
- Liaise with contractors and develop appropriate relationships.
- Ensure facilities and maintenance management meet the ISO9001 standard requirements.
Qualifications, Functional Experience & Skills
- Required
- Qualified to City & Guilds /HNC level in Mechanical and / or Electrical Engineering discipline, IEE 17th edition is an advantage.
- Proven practical multi-skilled experience in Maintenance, Engineering, and Workshop skills.
- Facility development experience.
- Preventive Planned Maintenance (PPM) experience.
- Issue management and reporting.
- Ability to prioritise tasks in a demanding environment.
- Good 5s methodology discipline.
- Occasional travel required to our other Birmingham site (estimated at around 2-3 days per month).
