Strategy and Policy Manager
Based in Perth (Hybrid)
Lying at the heart of Scotland and covering the Angus, Dundee City, Perth & Kinross and Stirling Council areas, Tactran is the statutory Regional Transport Partnership with a duty to create a Regional Transport Strategy and oversee its delivery. The Partnership is also a statutory Community Planning partner and Development Planning consultee and has a key role in supporting the development and implementation of City Deals.
Tactran recently adopted a new Regional Transport Strategy, setting the direction for transport policy and delivery in the region to 2034. The focus for Tactran and its partners will be to ensure the region meets the key challenges of the climate emergency, while contributing to a thriving economy, improving the health and well‑being of our citizens and ensuring this is done in a just way to deliver inclusive and sustainable growth.
We are seeking to appoint an experienced and highly motivated professional to play a key role in developing and delivering workstreams emerging from our Regional Transport Strategy.
Strategy & Policy Manager SCP 78 – 83 (£54,596 - £58,782)
Reporting to the Senior Partnership Manager you will have responsibility for the development, implementation and monitoring of the Regional Transport Strategy and related delivery programmes (for example Strategic Connectivity, Rail, Mobility Hubs, Freight and Low Carbon Vehicle themes). You will also be responsible for providing support to Partners’ processes such as Local Development Planning and Community Planning. This work will involve stakeholder and partner liaison and leading the appraisal, procurement and delivery of proposals and projects.
Ideally educated to degree level in a transportation or other relevant discipline, you will have experience of transport and wider policy issues within an RTP or local authority environment and have knowledge and/or experience of transportation appraisal and modelling techniques and knowledge of transport and other relevant legislation and related operational practices and procedures.
The Tactran office is based in Perth, but officers are also able to work on a hybrid basis.
