Tech for good, dogs, consumer product, AI-first engineering culture, real ownership, equity… what’s not to love? I’m working with an early stage startup on a mission to improve the lives of dogs through technology. The business is building a next-generation pet wellness platform helping owners give their dogs healthier, happier lives through smart technology and personalised insights and they’re now looking for a Founding Product Engineer to help shape the future of the product and the company from the ground up.
You’ll be taking ownership of a live product already in market, building new features at speed, and helping create a consumer experience people genuinely love using. The team wants someone product-minded, commercial, hands-on, and excited by startup energy, not someone looking to sit behind tickets in a large engineering team.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Owning and evolving an existing mobile + web platform
- Building exciting new consumer-facing features
- Shipping quickly and iterating constantly
- Using AI-assisted development workflows and tooling
- Helping shape the future technical direction of the business
What They’re Looking For
- Strong React Native experience
- Node.js / NestJS background
- JavaScript / TypeScript expertise
- Startup mentality/experience: proactive, adaptable, ambitious
- AI tooling experience (Claude, Cursor, Replit)
The Details:
- London hybrid (1–2 days onsite)
- Around £65K depending on experience
- Equity/options available
This is the kind of role where the right person can have an enormous impact on the product, the company, and millions of dog owners over time.
