Equity Area Coach
The Equity Area Coach oversees the people, processes, and operations of Taco Bell‑owned restaurants in their designated area. The role includes training, coaching, and supporting managers through planning, goal setting, and the use of success routines. The Coach focuses on in‑store problem solving and process improvement, sets standards, and recognizes and motivates Restaurant Managers, Assistant Managers, and Restaurant Teams.
Responsibilities
- Ensure successful and on‑time opening of new restaurants.
- Recruit, train, and develop new restaurant management and teams.
- Leverage culture and people capability to drive brand performance.
- Lead the performance management process for all employees, including feedback, appraisals, training, and development planning.
- Drive a customer‑focused culture by resolving serious customer issues and training managers to meet or exceed service standards.
- Identify root causes of customer complaints and lead management to implement systematic solutions.
- Conduct periodic restaurant audits with Regional General Managers to calibrate performance standards and provide feedback.
- Ensure food safety standards are met via direct observation and follow‑up audits.
- Monitor Speed with Service (SWS) performance and coach unit management to improve service speed.
- Review and prioritize store capital expenditure requests and establish vendor relationships.
- Ensure facilities and equipment meet Taco Bell standards and coordinate upgrades or replacements.
- Analyze sales, labor, inventory, and controllables continually and coach on corrective action to achieve margin and sales growth.
- Partner with each Manager to build sales growth over the previous year’s results.
- Develop and deliver unit‑specific Annual Operating Plans with Restaurant General Managers.
Qualifications
- Preferred degree; not a critical requirement.
- Passionate about quality food, service, cleanliness, and speed standards.
- Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team‑building skills.
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.
- Basic business math, accounting, and analytical decision‑making abilities.
- Three to five years of high‑volume operational management experience in Quick Service Restaurant or retail industry.
- Track record of workplace achievement in selecting, coaching, and developing managers.
- Proven ability to drive customer satisfaction, financial performance, and employee engagement.
