Reporting to the Area Coach, the Restaurant General Manager (RGM) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations to ensure customer satisfaction and profit maximization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Build and develop a high‑performing team by recruiting, training, coaching, and retaining qualified operators.
- Lead by example and embody Taco Bell’s HUNGRY principles: Hungry, Understanding, Never Follow, Grateful, Relentless, and Youthful.
- Control daily operations, including scheduling labor, ordering supplies, managing inventory, and maintaining equipment and facilities.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company policies while creating a safe and welcoming environment for customers and staff.
- Drive customer‑focused excellence by resolving issues, implementing service standards, and using customer insights to improve the experience.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators such as speed with service, sales, margins, and profit & loss, and develop corrective action plans.
- Collaborate with the Area Coach to develop and execute an annual operating plan, including capital expenditures and vendor relationships.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma required; university degree preferred but not mandatory.
- 2–4 years of operational management experience in the quick‑service restaurant industry or a retail environment, with responsibility for full P&L.
- Strong business math, accounting, and analytical decision‑making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong interpersonal relationships, resolve conflicts, and communicate effectively.
- Computer literacy and basic proficiency with point‑of‑sale and management software.
- Proactive, energetic, and positive leadership style that motivates employees to deliver quality food, service, cleanliness, and speed.
- Proven track record in selecting, coaching, and developing managers and team members to achieve customer satisfaction and financial performance.
