The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

We welcome applications from band 5 registered nurses who would like to join the Heron team, to work effectively and efficiently within the framework of team nursing and individualised patient care. In collaboration with the department's integrated multidisciplinary team to develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care for patients. The role is varied, equally challenging and rewarding, where you will have the opportunity to really make a difference to the experience of our patients. Whether this is supporting patients in their rehabilitation and recovery following an operation or a period of acute illness or providing holistic and compassionate care for patients at the end of life. You may be required to work on the wards within the division and across other areas in the hospital. Our teams will give you care and support both personally and professionally in an environment where you are valued by the team, appreciated and accepted for being you. Responsibilities

  • Delivering high quality direct patient care
  • Following patient admission/transfer/discharge processes
  • Maintaining a safe environment
  • Medication administration
  • Care planning, implementation and evaluation
  • Communicate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team, patients, families and their carers
  • Maintain best practice, ensuring compliance with evidence-based practice and research
  • Accountable to nurse in charge of each shift and supporting junior colleagues
  • Maintain skills, knowledge and competencies adhering to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct, and the Trusts policies and procedures
  • Pre and post operative care for patients undergoing orthopaedic procedures

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with appropriate Band 5 status
  • Experience in orthopaedic setting (desirable)
  • Ability to supervise junior registered and non-registered staff
  • Commitment to professional development and adherence to NMC Code of Conduct
