We have an exciting opportunity to join our team of dedicated consultants working in a friendly, flexible, and cohesive group. We are enthusiastic, welcoming and proactive in supporting special interests. We offer clinics in general and paediatric dermatology, a joint paediatric allergy‑dermatology clinic, a pregnancy dermatoses clinic, patch testing clinics, biologics and systemics clinics, two week rule clinics, skin lesion clinics, complex cases clinics (attended by all consultants), minor operative lists, as well as dermatopathology meetings.

This is a Specialty Doctor post with a weekly commitment of 10 PAs for full time equivalents; part‑time hours are also available. Ashford and St. Peters Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust serves a population of more than 410,000 people living in North‑West Surrey, parts of Hounslow and beyond. Over 3,700 highly trained doctors, nurses, midwives, therapists, healthcare scientists and other support staff make up our workforce, providing a wide range of services across our two hospital sites in Ashford, Surrey and St Peter’s, Chertsey, Surrey. We also run many specialist clinics in the community and local community hospitals and other healthcare facilities. Our vision is to be one of the best healthcare Trusts in the country. We are expanding our theatres at Ashford Hospital and moving towards creating a dedicated elective centre, a state‑of‑the‑art centre for excellence for planned surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Play an active part in the management of patients under the care of the department.
  • Develop and maintain a high standard of practice.
  • Take an active role in all activities of the department, including teaching and audit.
  • Work with existing consultants and the multi‑disciplinary team to provide a high‑quality, well‑led service for patients of Ashford & St Peters and Royal Surrey County Hospital, including the diagnosis, investigations, treatment and management of patients in accordance with Trust policies and practices.
  • Deliver direct clinical care to patients, through all parts of the department, assisting clinical decision‑making and sharing equally in the workload.
  • Have a continuing responsibility for the care of patients in your charge, ensuring safe handover as appropriate.
