To provide high-quality care and education to children aged [insert age range], supporting their learning, development, and wellbeing in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for children
  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities in line with EYFS
  • Observe, assess, and record children’s progress and development
  • Support children’s personal, social, emotional, and physical development
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Ensure safeguarding, health, and safety procedures are followed at all times
  • Promote inclusion and equality, supporting children with additional needs
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to learning journals
  • Support daily routines such as meals, hygiene, and rest times
  • Work effectively as part of a team and attend staff meetings and training

Requirements:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (or equivalent)
  • Good understanding of the EYFS framework
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Patient, caring, and enthusiastic approach to childcare
  • Ability to engage children in fun and educational activities

Desirable:

  • Paediatric First Aid certificate
  • Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting
  • Experience with SEN support

This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references. The nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
