To provide high-quality care and education to children aged insert age range, supporting their learning, development, and wellbeing in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for children
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities in line with EYFS
- Observe, assess, and record children’s progress and development
- Support children’s personal, social, emotional, and physical development
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
- Ensure safeguarding, health, and safety procedures are followed at all times
- Promote inclusion and equality, supporting children with additional needs
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to learning journals
- Support daily routines such as meals, hygiene, and rest times
- Work effectively as part of a team and attend staff meetings and training
Requirements
- Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (or equivalent)
- Good understanding of the EYFS framework
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Patient, caring, and enthusiastic approach to childcare
- Ability to engage children in fun and educational activities
Desirable
- Paediatric First Aid certificate
- Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting
- Experience with SEN support
