The role The College group are now seeking Support Mentors, with opportunities at their multiple campuses in Warwickshire to support students in classes with special educational needs. Hours: 3 days a week You will take responsibility for: * Supporting students with special education needs through tailored 1:1 and group sessions. * Collaborating with teaching staff to enhance student engagement and adapt the curriculum. * Encouraging personal development, independence and academic growth. * Managing behaviours and promoting a positive learning environment. * Accompanying and supporting students in all aspects of work experience placements, residentials, trips both on and off-site when required. * Tracking student progress and providing feedback to support plans. * To attend department meeting and undertake training and development as required. What you need It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following: * GCSEs or equivalent qualifications in Maths and English (Grade A-C). * Knowledge and understanding of special educational needs (SEN) and behaviour management. * A good level of understand of Educational Healthcare Plans (EHPs) * Previous experience in a student support/mentoring position or similar. * An Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months is required for this role. Other DESIRABLE skills include: * Previous experience working as a support mentor or similar role in a college/higher education setting * Prior experience supporting students Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), or other complex needs.
