The role The College group are now seeking a Specialist Learning Mentor (Mental Health), to be based at their campus in Rugby and Leamington to support students in classes with Mental Health and other special educational needs. Hours: 33 hours a week (Incl. 1 day a week in Leamington) You will take responsibility for: * Providing tailored support and mentoring students outside of the classroom and occasionally in-class, as directed by the SEN Team Leader / Mental Health Specialist Support Lead. * Assisting in the planning and completion of EHCP Annual Reviews and updating inclusion reports. * Liaising with parents and working closely with tutors and support leads to monitor, review, and ensure progress toward identified student targets. * Collaborating with lecturers to prepare and adapt learning materials, ensuring accessibility for individual needs. * Assisting in the development and delivery of cross-college staff training on mental health and inclusion, as well as creating and sharing student resources and training materials. What you need It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following: * GCSEs or equivalent qualifications in Maths and English (Grade A-C) and educated to level 3. * Level 2 or above qualification relevant to mental health * Prior experience in supporting students with mental health * A good level of understand of Educational Healthcare Plans (EHPs) and SEND Code of practice. * An Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months is required for this role. Other DESIRABLE skills include: * Previous experience of working with students with mental health in a college/further and higher education setting * A qualification specific to Mental Health would be highly advantageous What is on offer On offer is the chance to join a forward thinking and progressive college.
