The role As a Secondary Supply Teacher, you will deliver engaging and structured lessons across a variety of school settings, teaching within your subject specialism or providing general cover where required. This role offers complete flexibility - whether you are looking for a few days per week, full-time supply, or a better work-life balance around existing commitments.
You will take responsibility for:
- Delivering pre-planned lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 where applicable)
- Teaching within your subject specialism or covering general lessons
- Adapting teaching style to suit different classroom environments
- Maintaining strong classroom management and a focused learning atmosphere
- Following school policies and ensuring continuity of learning
- Building positive relationships with students and school staff
- Representing a high standard of teaching professionalism across all placements
What you need It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching within a secondary school setting
- Strong classroom management skills
- A flexible and adaptable approach to different school environments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Other DESIRABLE skills include:
- Subject specialism in core or high-demand areas
- Experience delivering lessons across multiple key stages
- Confidence covering general lessons outside specialism when required
- Ability to quickly build rapport with new classes and staff teams
- Strong organisational skills and reliability
