Are you a proven Business Development Manager with a track record of winning new B2B customers?

Do you have experience within logistics, supply chain, transport, distribution, FMCG, packaging, manufacturing or another fast-paced commercial sector?

We are recruiting for an established international organisation looking to appoint a talented Business Development Manager to develop its Northern territory.

This is a field-based new business role covering the M62 corridor and North of England.

You do not need to be Leeds-based, although you will ideally live within easy reach of the M62 and be comfortable travelling throughout your territory.

The Opportunity

This is a genuine new business / hunter role.

You won't simply inherit a comfortable portfolio of accounts to maintain.

You'll be responsible for identifying target organisations, opening doors, building your own pipeline and converting opportunities into long-term commercial relationships.

Working with organisations across FMCG, food & beverage, manufacturing, retail, logistics and distribution, you'll take a consultative approach to understanding customers' operations and developing solutions that deliver genuine commercial and operational benefits. xgikmsk

You'll have plenty of autonomy to manage your own diary and territory, backed by the resources and reputation of an established international business.

  • Identifying and winning new B2B customers across the North
  • Developing your own pipeline through cold calling, networking, referrals, Linked In and market research
  • Arranging and attending face-to-face customer meetings and site visits
  • Building relationships with procurement, operational and senior commercial decision-makers
  • Understanding customers' supply chain and operational requirements
  • Presenting tailored, consultative commercial solutions
  • Managing the full sales cycle from initial prospecting through to proposal, negotiation and close
  • Developing opportunities within logistics, supply chain, FMCG, retail, manufacturing and distribution
