Are you an experienced Project Manager with a background in manufacturing or automotive engineering? Do you enjoy taking new products from concept through to production while working closely with customers, engineering, and operations teams? Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a Project Manager to lead multiple New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from prototype tooling through to low-volume production within a specialist automotive manufacturing environment.
The Role
Reporting to the Operations Director, you will take full ownership of customer projects, ensuring delivery on time, to specification, and with all required documentation completed. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing multiple NPI projects from engineering handover through to production
- Reviewing engineering data packs and maintaining project tracking documentation
- Developing and monitoring project timing plans and key milestones
- Coordinating cross-functional meetings with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams
- Working closely with production to ensure capacity and resource alignment
- Liaising directly with customers and providing regular project updates
- Ensuring manufacturing documentation, route cards, and quality approvals are completed prior to shipment
- Supporting smooth project handover into full production
About You
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- Previous Project Management experience within a manufacturing environment
- Ideally experience in automotive, sheet metal fabrication, or engineering manufacturing
- Strong understanding of New Product Introduction (NPI) processes
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication skills with confidence engaging customers and internal stakeholders
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with strong commercial awareness
- A continuous improvement approach focused on delivering successful outcomes
A formal Project Management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2/APM) would be advantageous but is not essential.
