T2M Resourcing are working with a growing engineering business to recruit a new Head of Legal to take on leadership of an international legal team and provides hands-on support across the Group.
Acting as a trusted advisor to the executive team, the Head of Legal will provide advice and drafting of high value commercial contracts, assess liability and contractual risks, and develop governance processes/frameworks for the business to work within.
Key duties as Head of Legal
- Leading the international legal team of Commercial Contract Managers.
- Provide advice and support to the group executive function – CEO, CFO, Managing Directors.
- Drafting, negotiating, and signing off high value commercial contracts with customers, sub-contractors, and suppliers.
- Conducting legal due diligence for merger & acquisition activity.
- Reporting on contractual, commercial, and legal risks – presenting mitigating solutions.
- Developing corporate governance and frameworks for use across the international Group.
- Working closely with procurement, H&S, HR, and finance teams.
Requirements to be successful as Head of Legal
- Qualified Solicitor/Barrister in the UK, international qualifications beneficial.
- Experience as a General Counsel, Head of Legal, or similar level.
- Multiple jurisdiction exposure either as a Legal Counsel or manager.
- Subject matter expert in commercial, contract, and corporate law.
- Knowledge and understanding of the manufacturing/engineering sectors.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Proven in leading and mentoring teams.
- Diverse business exposure including Private Equity ownership and SMEs is beneficial.
- Knowledge of broad legal areas including H&S, employment, and legal due diligence.
This is a fully remote role in the UK however will include travel across the UK and Internationally; a UK driving license as well as flexibility to travel is required.
