T2M Resourcing are working with a cutting-edge technology business looking to expand their sales team with a new Business Development Manager, driving new business product sales with a focus on the marine and automotive sector. As a Business Development Manager you will be tasked with growing a key channel and leading both the strategy and delivery. One of the key markets they are looking to grow is the leisure and commercial marine, you will act as the channel sales leader for this market.
Key duties of a Business Development Manager:
- Develop a channel sales strategy for the marine sector.
- Identifying marine targets and building a sales pipeline.
- Making initial contact and presenting sales pitches to new contacts, such as Marine and Automotive OEMs, on-board and off-board motor/powertrain manufacturers, and naval tier 1 and defence suppliers.
- Attending automotive and boat shows/marine networking events.
- Gathering requirements from potential customers and handing over to engineers/proposals team.
- Working with internal and client engineering teams to build technical solutions.
- Closing new business sales and final contract negotiation.
- Building long-term relationships with customers.
- Account development, up-selling, and cross-selling.
Requirements to be successful as a Business Development Manager:
- Proven sales and/or business development manager.
- Thorough understanding of technical/engineering sales processes.
- Knowledge of marine and automotive sector and potential customers.
- Self-motivated and able to work autonomously.
- Business and commercial acumen.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
- Confident in negotiation and persuasion.
This role is remote in the UK however will require travel nationwide as well as some international travel. A UK Driving licence and own vehicle is essential.
