Walsall and Surrounding Areas | Hybrid working

Full Time & Part Time Available | Permanent £27,000 - £30,000 per year + bonus + expenses

  • Level 3+ qualification in Health & Social Care
  • Minimum 2 years’ recent experience in Adult Health & Social Care (Senior Carer level or above)
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel

This role would suit candidates with experience in Adult Care as a Senior Carer, Care Coordinator, Team Leader, Deputy Manager, Registered Manager, Care Manager or an existing Health & Social Care Assessor.

The Role

We’re recruiting for a Health and Social Care Assessor to support learners working towards apprenticeship qualifications across workplace settings. You will support, coach and assess learners, helping them develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to successfully complete their programme. You will work with learners across Walsall and surrounding areas, combining remote delivery with planned workplace visits. You will manage your own diary and workload to meet key performance targets and ensure learner progress. No learner sourcing is required – all learners are provided, allowing you to focus on delivery, coaching and assessment. This role is sometimes referred to as Apprenticeship Assessor, Health and Social Care Tutor or Skills Coach within Health and Social Care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with learners and employers through regular reviews and engagement
  • Deliver high-quality teaching, coaching and assessment sessions aligned to apprenticeship standards
  • Conduct workplace observations to assess practical competency
  • Review learner work and provide timely, constructive feedback
  • Support learners with Functional Skills (Maths & English) where required
  • Prepare learners for End Point Assessment (EPA)
  • Monitor learner progress and ensure timely achievement of qualifications
  • Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and a safe learning environment at all times
