Position:
Trainee Health and Social Care Assessor
We are looking for experienced health & social care professionals to join our team. Through our training Academy, we will develop you to become a Health & Social Care Personal Development Manager (Assessor). If you have a passion for driving standards within the health & social care sector through education and are experienced in the adult health & social care industry, read on as this may be the opportunity for you!
The Role
As a Personal Development Manager (assessor), you will be responsible for ensuring a caseload of apprenticeship & diploma-only learners achieve their health and social care qualifications at Level 2/3 or Levels 4/5 depending on your occupational competence.
You will do this through conducting progressive visits (a mixture of remote video calls and face to face meetings at the learners’ workplace) with every learner each month – supporting, motivating, and encouraging them to achieve their qualification within the agreed timeframes. You will have a clear set of KPI’s and will manage your own diary to ensure you achieve these.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Engaging with learners and employers monthly to gain commitment to programme
- Delivering effective teaching and learning sessions in line with the curriculum approach to develop knowledge, skills and behaviours as defined in the apprenticeship standards – adhering to Ofsted and Awarding Organisation requirements and best practice for teaching, learning and assessment
- Ensure submission and assessment of learner evidence in a timely manner to show learner progression
- Carrying out observations of learner practice in the workplace
- Supporting learners to achieve their maths and English Functional Skills
- Supporting learners to successfully pass End Point Assessment
- Promoting and safeguarding learner health and wellbeing
- Recognising and report any safeguarding concerns relating to staff, learners, adults at risk or children.
Requirements:
Requirements
- Current, extensive and relevant H&SC experience (min 2 years) in the adult / elderly health & social care sector, including Dementia and Learning Disabilities at a Senior Carer level or above
- Health and social care qualification at Level 3 or Level 5
- Experience of delivering training in a health and social care setting would be an advantage
- Good English and maths skills, preferably to GCSE level or equivalent (C or above)
- Experience of working in high demand environments, to targets and tight deadlines
- Experience of working autonomously, having excellent time management, organisation and planning skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders
- Excellent IT Skills – ability to navigate internal applications and use Microsoft packages

Salary
Level 5 – £25,000 starting salary rising to £30,000 once qualified and on successful probation
Level 3 – £23,000 starting salary rising to £27,000 once qualified and on successful probation
Additional Information
You must have your own transport, a WIFI connection at home and car insurance covered by business use. All business mileage and expenses are covered by the company.
