We are looking for a motivated and inspiring Observation Assessor to join our dedicated Health & Social Care Apprenticeship team. This rewarding and dynamic role involves travelling to workplaces across your region, carrying out holistic observations of learners and helping them achieve one of the most important qualifications in their careers.

About the Role

  • Location: Field-based (travel required)
  • Contract: Full-time, Permanent
  • Salary: Competitive plus travel expenses and great benefits

Responsibilities

  • Visiting workplaces to observe learners in real‑life care settings, ensuring they meet apprenticeship standards.
  • Providing clear, constructive feedback to support learner progression and achievement.
  • Planning and conducting progressive in‑person visits (average of 3 learners per day).
  • Managing your time effectively to maximise travel efficiency and learning outcomes.
  • Ensuring all assessments meet Ofsted, awarding body, and internal quality standards.
  • Supporting other key activities such as mock assessments, professional discussions, and learner reviews.
  • Promoting safeguarding and wellbeing at all times, making every learner feel supported and safe.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A genuine passion for education, quality, and empowering others to succeed.
  • Excellent planning, time management and communication skills.
  • Confidence working independently, with the flexibility to travel long distances and stay overnight when needed.
  • An Assessor qualification (D32/D33, A1, TAQA, or CAVA).
  • A Health & Social Care qualification at Level 3, 4 or 5.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in the Health & Social Care sector (minimum Senior Carer level).
  • Strong English and maths skills, preferably GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent).
  • Proven ability to work in high‑pressure environments, meeting targets and deadlines effectively.
  • Highly organised and self‑motivated, with excellent time management, planning, and organisational skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with learners, employers, and key stakeholders.
  • Proficient in IT, able to navigate internal systems and confidently use Microsoft Office applications.

Additional Requirements

  • Must have own transport and broadband connection; business‑use car insurance is required (all business mileage and expenses are covered by the company).
  • Employment is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check & references.
