At t2 group, we refer to our Health & Social Care Assessors as Personal Development Managers, reflecting their vital role in guiding learners through the entire learning journey – providing expert teaching, coaching, and development support to help them succeed.
We have opportunities for Qualified Health & Social Care Practical Skills Personal Development Managers (Assessors):
Qualified Assessors
Salary: Level 3 – £27,000 + bonus opportunity + salary uplift depending on location taking basic to £29K
Salary: Level 5 – £30,000 + bonus opportunity + salary uplift depending on location taking basic to £32,500
Role Purpose
As a Practical Skills PDM you will be responsible for supporting an allocation of Apprenticeship learners to achieve their Health and Social Care qualifications. You will do this through conducting progressive in-person visits with your learner to complete pre-planned observations using a holistic approach. You will also support with other in-person interventions as required, such as mock Situational Judgement Tests, pre-planned Professional Discussions, invigilation of Functional Skills exams and gaining any other supporting evidence that would support learner progression, as and when required.
You will have a clear set of KPI\\\’s and will manage your own diary to ensure you achieve these.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with learners and employers to plan practical assessments as and when required in line with the apprenticeship standards.
- Provide clear feedback on knowledge, skills and behaviours as defined in the apprenticeship standards.
- Adhere to Ofsted requirements and best practice for teaching, learning and assessment
- Visit an average of 3 learner per day face-to-face, in person
- Proactively manage learner\\\’s observation in line with the curriculum approach to ensure they complete within funded programme end dates
- Carrying out observations of learner practice in the workplace
- Supporting learners to achieve their maths and English functional skills
- Supporting learners to successfully pass End Point Assessment
- Adhere to external Awarding Organisation standards and internal quality processes at all times
- Ensure submission and assessment of learner evidence in a timely manner to show learner progression
- Complete and submit associated administration accurately and within expected timescales
- Proactively commit to your own continuing professional development to drive continual improvement
- Share best practice to improve team performance
- Foster a collaborative approach across operational, quality and support teams
- Promote and safeguard learner health and wellbeing
- Recognise, record and report any safeguarding concerns relating to learners, adults at risk or children.
Skills & experience required
- A passion for education, standards and quality
- Excellent time management, planning and organising skills especially in relation to effective travel to maximise time
- Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines and targets
- Assertiveness and objection handling skills
- Professional and approachable manner
- Effective communication skills – ability to communicate at all levels
- IT Literate
- Competent in Literacy and Numeracy
- Relevant D32 / D33, A1, TAQA, CAVA or equivalent qualification
- Ideally you will possess a Health and Social Care Qualification to a level that reflects your occupational competency
Minimum of 2 years\\\’ experience working in Health and Social Care

Requirements for the role
- Minimum of 2 years\\\’ hands-on experience in the adult or elderly Health & Social Care sector, including expertise in Dementia and Learning Disabilities, at a Senior Carer level or above
- Health & Social Care qualification at Level 3 or Level 5
- Previous experience in work-based learning or education settings, with an Assessor qualification (CAVA, TAQA, A1, or equivalent)
- Ideally hold a Level 3 or higher teaching qualification (desirable but not essential)
- Strong English and maths skills, preferably GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent)
- Proven ability to work in high-pressure environments, meeting targets and deadlines effectively
- Highly organised and self-motivated, with excellent time management, planning, and organisational skills
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with learners, employers, and key stakeholders
- Proficient in IT, with the ability to navigate internal systems and confidently use Microsoft Office applications
