As an Internal Assessment Coach, you will play a pivotal role in the t2 Academy and wider Learning & Development Team. Responsible for supporting colleagues through the successful achievement of the Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment (ACWE) and the Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET), you will provide high-quality assessment, coaching and developmental support to internal learners, ensuring they develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to become competent and confident assessors and trainers. You will also play a key role in maintaining assessment quality across the organisation through the countersigning of assessment decisions made by unqualified assessors.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will have a clear set of KPI's and quality expectations and will manage your own workload to ensure learners progress and achieve within expected timescales, building the capability of our existing delivery teams and enabling the business to fulfil talent planning and resource requirements.
- Manage a caseload of TAQA learners, providing ongoing support and guidance throughout their qualification journey, proactively intervening where learners are at risk of falling behind to ensure timely progression throughout their programme.
- Conduct assessments of learner evidence and portfolios against qualification standards using a range of assessment methods, ensuring assessment decisions are valid, authentic, reliable, current and sufficient (VARCS).
- Conduct observations of assessment and training practice, both remotely and face-to-face where required.
- Provide clear, constructive and developmental feedback and guidance to learners, coaching and mentoring them to support their progression towards assessor competence and qualification achievement.
- Support learners in understanding qualification requirements, assessment criteria and evidence expectations.
- Maintain accurate and compliant assessment records and administration timely and in line with Awarding Organisation and organisational requirements.
- Support countersigning of assessment decisions made by unqualified assessors delivering Health and Social Care qualifications, ensuring all assessment decisions they make are valid, authentic, reliable, current and sufficient and that learners receive fair, consistent and robust assessment decisions.
- Monitor the quality and consistency of assessment practice carried out by unqualified assessors and identify any areas requiring improvement.
- Support the standardisation of assessment practice across Health and Social Care programmes and all TAQA qualifications.
- Contribute to internal quality assurance activities and respond to IQA feedback in a timely manner.
- Ensure all assessment decisions meet Awarding Organisation requirements and internal quality standards.
- Promote holistic assessment opportunities where appropriate.
- Support learners to develop reflective practice and actively seek out opportunities for continuous professional development.
- Share best practice and contribute to the continuous improvement of training and assessment resources.
- Foster collaborative working relationships across the business including Operations, Quality and Learning & Development teams.
- Promote learner wellbeing and provide appropriate support and signposting where required.
- Recognise, record and report safeguarding concerns in line with organisational procedures.
- Proactively engage in, and record, own continuing professional development to maintain occupational competence and assessment expertise.

- Ideally a minimum of 2 years experience working in managing Adult Health and Social Care provisions
