Position Overview
We’re looking for a motivated and inspiring Observation Assessor to join our Health & Social Care Apprenticeship team. You’ll travel to workplaces across your region, carrying out holistic observations of learners and helping them achieve key qualifications.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Visiting workplaces to observe learners in real‑life care settings, ensuring they meet apprenticeship standards.
- Providing clear, constructive feedback to support learner progression.
- Planning and conducting progressive in‑person visits (average of 3 learners per day).
- Managing time effectively to maximise travel efficiency and learning outcomes.
- Ensuring all assessments meet Ofsted, awarding body and internal quality standards.
- Supporting with mock assessments, professional discussions and learner reviews.
- Promoting safeguarding and wellbeing at all times.
What We’re Looking For
- A genuine passion for education, quality and empowering others to succeed.
- Excellent planning, time management and communication skills.
- Confidence working independently, with flexibility to travel long distances and stay overnight when needed.
- An Assessor qualification (D32/D33, A1, TAQA, or CAVA).
- A Health & Social Care qualification at Level 3, 4 or 5.
- At least 2 years’ experience in the Health and Social Care sector (minimum Senior Carer level).
Requirements for the Role
- Minimum 2 years hands‑on experience in adult/elderly Health & Social Care, including expertise in Dementia and Learning Disabilities at Senior Carer level or above.
- Health & Social Care qualification at Level 5.
- Previous work‑based learning or education experience, with an Assessor qualification (CAVA, TAQA, A1 or equivalent).
- Strong English and maths skills, GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent).
- Proven ability to work in high‑pressure environments, meeting targets and deadlines.
- Highly organised, self‑motivated with excellent time management, planning and organisational skills.
- Exceptional communication skills; ability to build relationships with learners, employers and stakeholders.
- Proficient in IT; comfortable navigating internal systems and Microsoft Office.
Additional Requirements
- Must have own transport, broadband connection, and business‑use car insurance (all business mileage and expenses are covered by the company).
- Employment subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check and references.
