The Delivery Manager is a key role for a new team structure and workflow, focused on supporting delivery excellence and the realisation of high-quality, integrated outputs for our clients. Working in close partnership with client leads, this position assists in the robust set-up and governance of projects, the consistent application of the DIPPAM workflow, and the effective adoption of AI.
The Delivery Manager plays a vital supporting role in project set-up, triage, and delivery within the client pillar with guidance from the Head of Creative Operations, Client Leads and Head of Production. They contribute to achieving pillar‑specific OKRs, helping to embed tools and platforms and ensuring teams are equipped to meet or exceed client expectations. Their expertise lies in optimisation and supporting project teams to deliver their best work against agreed client expectations.
Responsibilities
- Support the Client Leads and client service teams in the comprehensive upfront triage and rigorous definition of projects from the outset.
- Contribute to the definition of robust guardrails and ways of working on all projects, based on agency guidelines.
- Assist with effective resource and cost planning, the identification of risks, and the creation of mitigation plans to ensure clear project control and governance from the outset.
- Manage the upward approval process for final project scope, timelines, and delivery plans, ensuring timely sign‑off from senior stakeholders to maintain project momentum.
- Support the application and maintenance of rigorous project and operational fundamentals, including proactive in‑flight management, diligent tracking, and robust change control mechanisms.
- Support Client Leads with the delivery of high‑quality, integrated project outputs.
- Assist in the implementation of robust QA & risk protocols, leveraging AI where possible for early detection and mitigation of potential issues.
- Monitor and report on project health and performance, identifying areas for improvement and supporting the implementation of AI‑driven solutions to enhance execution.
- Support the consistent project set‑up and adoption of WPP Open, ensuring its effective use as our central platform for integrated delivery.
Transformation:
- Support the landing and adoption of the workflow and renewed delivery practices within their pillar.
- Assist in the optimisation of our new client‑specific resource management processes, ensuring efficient allocation of talent and specialist services.
- Monitor the delivery of accelerated outputs, aligned to the effort and timeframe guidelines defined by DIPPAM leadership.
- Support with the delivery of Sprints and other innovative ways of working that enable accelerated integrated delivery.
Change Adoption & Training Support:
- Support the successful adoption of new processes, structures, and technologies by teams within your pillars.
- Support with the planning and execution of training programmes related to the DIPPAM workflow, WPP Open, AI tools, and new operational procedures.
Skills Required
- Strong project and programme management skills, with experience in managing complex projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timelines.
- Experience in implementing and contributing to the optimisation of operational and project management frameworks within a marketing or creative agency.
- Good practical experience in leveraging AI, machine learning, and automation tools to optimise workflows.
- Experience in adopting new operational processes and technologies, helping to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Strong facilitation skills, with experience in Agile sprints with internal teams and clients.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships and effectively communicate with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong familiarity and practical experience with WPP Open.
- Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse internal teams (e.g. Creative, Production, Strategy, Planning and Specialist Services).
- A proactive and analytical approach to identifying operational bottlenecks, anticipating risks, and implementing effective solutions.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate operational processes clearly and support the consistent adoption of new ways of working.
