We are seeking an experienced and pro-active Project Manager to support our growing business in the Norfolk area. Working alongside an experienced management team, and reporting directly to the Construction Director, you will be responsible for the successful planning, coordination, and delivery of large scale groundworks packages. This will include managing programmes, budgets, subcontractors, health & safety, and quality to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to specification.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage groundwork packages from pre-start through to completion on private housing sites.
- Oversee site set-up, earthworks, drainage, foundations, roads and sewers, and external works.
- Ensure works are delivered in line with programme, budget, and client requirements.
- Prepare and manage short-term and long-term programmes.
- Monitor progress against programme and implement corrective actions where required.
- Control project costs, variations, and forecasting in conjunction with commercial teams.
Site Management
- Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure materials, plant, and labour are available to meet programme demands.
- Chair and attend site meetings with clients, consultants, and internal teams.
Health, Safety & Environment
- Ensure full compliance with HSE regulations and company procedures.
- Prepare and review RAMS and ensure they are implemented on site.
- Promote a strong safety culture and carry out regular site inspections.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure works are delivered to drawings, specifications, and NHBC / local authority requirements.
- Manage inspections, testing, and sign-offs.
- Rectify defects promptly and efficiently.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, site managers, and external stakeholders.
- Maintain strong working relationships with housing developers and consultants.
- Provide regular progress reports to senior management.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Project Manager or Site Manager within Groundworks for private housing.
- Strong groundworks knowledge.
- Experience working with high volume housebuilders.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple plots/phases simultaneously.
- Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability.
