We employ a select group of individuals with the professional knowledge and practical skills to provide a high-quality service, tailored to our clients' needs. Current projects range in value from £500k to £10 million. As a company, we operate within a fast-paced environment across a diverse range of projects primarily in London and the South East but with projects stretching across the whole of England.

About the Role

T. Vaughan Ltd.'s nominated site SHE Advisor will have the main responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Assist the Directors, SHEQ Manager and Project Manager in all matters relating to health, safety, quality, and environmental management on site.
  • Carry out HSE walk arounds daily to ensure compliance – minimum 50% of time on site every day.
  • Carry out and record site inspections and audits (minimum x1 per week).
  • Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), COSHH assessments, manual handling assessments, toolbox talks, procedures and other safety-related documentation as necessary.
  • Carry out site (TVL) inductions and orientation.
  • Conduct training, workshops and TBT’s on site where required.
  • Assist with the development and management of lifting plans, waste management plans, rescue plans, traffic management and site-specific plans and procedures as appropriate.
  • Ensure site specific PPE / RPE requirements are met.
  • Carry out RPE mask face fit testing (training can be provided to do this).
  • Oversee and order H&S / PPE related consumables, stock, materials and equipment.
  • Maintain site COSHH stores, register and assessments.
  • Ensure spill management prevention and control measures are suitable.
  • Complete monthly HSE report for submission to client and TVL management team.
  • Oversee high risk and complex works.
  • Review temporary works arrangements on site.
  • Ensure adequate dedicated cutting, re-fuelling and wash-out areas are in operation on site and remain compliant.
  • Assist the organisation in compliance with relevant industry legislation including LOLER, PUWER, CDM, HASAWA etc.
  • Create safety alerts and toolbox talks as relevant to new industry standards, changing seasons/weather and recording signed returns register.
  • Assist with the creation of, and annual review of organisational policies and procedures.
  • Attend site briefings.
  • Manage site training and competency matrix spreadsheet, adding new starter information and cross-checking validity of details, right to work and qualifications etc.
  • Keep up to date with changes in current legislation and suggest such changes where discovered and as relevant.
  • Support the organisation in maintaining ISO certification using the company management system and controlled forms.
  • Manage site sub-contractor PQQ’s and review sub-contractor RAMS for effectiveness and monitoring works.
  • Carry out incident investigations, RIDDOR and near miss reporting as may be necessary.
  • Conduct witness / injured party interviews and compile evidence for incident investigation reports.
  • Conduct research into industry best practice approaches to help the organisation improve safety performance and efficiency.
  • Conduct HAVS assessments and maintain an up-to-date register.
  • Perform any other ad hoc health and safety, environmental and quality duties as required.
  • Provide additional general management and support to colleagues on site and across the wider business as required.
  • Act as the company site Mental Health Awareness champion and aid the wellbeing of colleagues across the site.
  • Perform any other relevant acts and tasks as may be reasonably requested by the Senior Management Team.

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH (construction or General)
  • CSCS Card
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
