T Vaughan Ltd is a specialist Enabling, Groundworks, Civil Engineering and RC Frame company based in Brentwood, Essex. We employ a select group of individuals with the professional knowledge and practical skills to provide a high-quality service, tailored to our clients' needs. Current projects range in value from £500k to £10 million. As a company, we operate within a fast-paced environment across a diverse range of projects primarily in London and the South East but with projects stretching across the whole of England. We are currently experiencing a period of sustained growth and require a Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Brentwood.
About the Role
T Vaughan Ltd.’s nominated Quantity Surveyor will join the commercial team, from helping procure subcontractors and suppliers to preparing vital cost and materials data. Get involved in real projects—measuring, evaluating, coordinating payments, attending site meetings, and working closely with our on-site teams. This is your opportunity to develop practical skills and build industry connections.
Key Responsibilities
- Price/forecast the cost of the different materials needed for the project.
- Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation.
- Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly.
- Procure or agree the services of contractors and/or subcontractors who work on the construction of the project.
- Measure and value the project on completed work and oversee commercial calendar for the project.
- Liaise with the client and other construction professionals, such as site managers, project managers and site engineers.
- Select and/or source construction materials.
- Maintain awareness of the different building contracts in current use.
- Perform any other acts and tasks as reasonably requested by the line manager, a senior manager, or the Directorship team.
Requirements
Qualifications: BSc in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, excellent communication, organisation, and negotiation skills.
Experience: Prior site experience is a plus but by no means a pre-requisite.
