The Opportunity

We are looking for an Electrical Project Manager to join our team in Swindon, reporting to the Electrical Director and working as part of a high‑performing team.

The Electrical Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful delivery of multiple electrical projects from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover.

The role requires strong technical knowledge, commercial awareness, leadership capability, and the ability to manage client relationships at a senior level.

The successful candidate will oversee project teams, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, manage programme delivery, and drive operational excellence whilst maintaining profitability and customer satisfaction.

  • What You’ll Be Doing
  • Project Delivery
  • Lead and manage multiple electrical projects simultaneously, ranging from £1m to £5m+ in value.
  • Oversee all project phases from design development and procurement through installation, commissioning, and handover.
  • Develop and manage project programmes, monitoring performance against budget, schedule and key performance indicators
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with contractual obligations and client requirements.
  • Commercial Management
  • Work closely with commercial teams to maintain project profitability.
  • Review project costs, forecasts, variations, and cash flow.
  • Support the preparation and negotiation of change orders and contract amendments.
  • Contribute to project reporting and monthly financial reviews.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering.
  • Client Relationship Management
  • Act as the primary point of contact for key clients and stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to support customer retention and repeat business opportunities.
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular progress updates.
  • Ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded throughout project delivery.
  • Team Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Project Managers, Site Managers, Engineers, and Supervisors.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance project culture.
  • Conduct performance reviews and support employee development plans.
  • Ensure effective resource planning across projects.
  • Promote best practice and continuous improvement.
  • Health, Safety, Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory, company, and client-specific HSE requirements.
  • Conduct regular project and site reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with BS 7671, IET Regulations, Building Regulations, CDM Regulations, and other relevant legislation.
  • Support quality assurance processes and achievement of project quality objectives.
  • Procurement & Supply Chain Management
  • Oversee procurement strategies and subcontractor engagement.
  • Manage supplier and subcontractor performance.
  • Ensure materials and equipment are delivered in line with programme requirements.
  • Develop strong relationships with key supply chain partners.
  • Technical Leadership
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project teams.
  • Review design solutions for buildability, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Support commissioning strategies and project close-out activities.
  • Ensure integration and coordination with mechanical, BMS, and specialist systems.
  • What We Are Looking For

Essential

  • SMSTS
  • CSCS Manager Card
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Proven experience managing complex electrical projects within the construction or building services sector.
  • Strong understanding of electrical building services systems.
  • Experience delivering projects in highly regulated environments such as life sciences, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or manufacturing facilities.
  • Excellent commercial and contractual knowledge.
  • Demonstrable leadership and people management experience.
  • Strong stakeholder and client management skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Desirable

  • Experience within Design & Build contracting.
  • Knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts.
  • Experience working on cleanrooms, laboratories, data centres, and pharmaceutical facilities.
  • Experience supporting business development and strategic growth initiatives.
