The ESG Data Analyst will support a range of ESG quantitative analysis to support the Global Sustainability team as well as members of the equity, fixed income and multi-asset team focused on providing customized sustainable solutions. The Sustainability team are subject matter experts on environmental and social issues and work in tandem with the Governance team to support Analysts and Portfolio Managers in integrating Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) considerations into the investment process. The position provides deep knowledge of our investment organization and how we interact with Investments and partners across the organization.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Conduct quantitative analysis on the ESG characteristics of investment portfolios
  • Conduct quantitative analysis to support new and manage existing sustainable mandates
  • Support compliance monitoring for sustainable funds/mandates where automated solutions do not exist
  • Assist in collating and analyzing sustainability data required for custom ESG reporting
  • Participate in pre-trade monitoring (for example exclusions checks)
  • Assist the team in responding to incoming ESG data queries
  • Assist the team in maintaining data for sustainability dashboards and KPIs (for example ESG AUM, research published, headcount, etc)
  • Maintain standard data in models that does not have a vendor feed
  • Assist in data governance and quality checks

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES / SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience with ideally a minimum of 2 years experience in a data related role within Investment Management
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Understanding of coding in Python
  • Ability to communicate well – oral and written
  • Ability to learn and work with multiple systems effectively
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize work collaboratively and independently
  • Resourceful, self-motivated, and intellectually curious with strong attention to detail
  • Capable of building and maintaining strong relationships

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Power BI
  • Experience with ESG/market data services preferred (Bloomberg, Sustainalytics, MSCI ESG etc.)
  • Experience in using AI to automate processes

Work Flexibility: This position allows for one day per week working from home.
